How Networks Maintain Low Latency Under Load

Real-time applications depend on consistently low and stable latency. In traditional networks, congestion leads to queue build-up at bottlenecks, increasing delay and eventually causing packet loss.

In this training video, we explain how Low Latency, Low Loss, Scalable Throughput (L4S) addresses this challenge. Instead of reacting to packet loss, L4S uses Explicit Congestion Notification (ECN) to signal congestion early, allowing endpoints to adjust their sending rate before queues grow.

This approach keeps latency low, maintains stable throughput, and ensures smooth application performance even under load.
