Roula Ioannou is Head of Education and Professional Training at p-NET. She has extensive administrative experience, where she previously worked at the Hellenic Management Association, as the Regional Director of the Peloponnese and Western Greece Branch. Prior to that, she worked as the Administrative Director at Intercollege Larnaca, Cyprus. She has been involved in developing educational programs of study, co-operating with businesses and organizations in offering training and educational programs to executives, implementing various EU projects and has been actively involved in accreditation processes. Roula holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from the Business School of the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.

Vaia Kalokidou, PhD, is a Principle 6G Research and Innovation Engineer at p-NET. Vaia holds a BEng/MEng in Electronic Engineering from the University of Reading, UK, and a PhD in Wireless Networking (Interference Management Techniques for 5G wireless networks) from the University of Bristol, UK. She worked as a Senior Research Associate for several years at the University of Bristol, UK, specialising in mmWave, Massive MIMO, PHY security, and physical system deployments as well as PHY/MAC simulator development. She has also worked as a Senior Telecommunication Systems and Innovation Engineer at Satellite Applications Catapult, UK, mainly focusing on bid proposals and delivery of technical projects on 6G research (NTN-TN unification, open networks, IoT, UAVs, etc.). Vaia has also been following 6G-related standardisation activities in 3GPP, O-RAN and ETSI.

His last 7 years at Bell Labs were spent in London, UK where he was the Senior Director for Wireless Consulting. Marios also served as the 5G expert at Digital Catapult in the UK and as a member of the Board of Directors at JCC Payment Systems in Cyprus. He invented various innovations which went to market with significant commercial success including the WSO (Wireless Strategy Optimizer). Marios holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of California Irvine, and an MSc in Engineering Management from the University of Southern California.

Athanassios Staveris-Polykalas is a cybersecurity expert and digital transformation consultant with extensive experience in telecommunications, cybersecurity policy, and the application of artificial intelligence in public administration and private sector operations. As the former Secretary General of Telecommunications and Posts in Greece, he led key national projects that strengthened the country’s digital infrastructure. He was responsible for the implementation of the European emergency number 112, improving the efficiency and coordination of emergency services. He also oversaw the rollout of Ultra-Fast Broadband, expanding high-speed internet access across the country. In addition, Athanassios developed national cybersecurity policies aimed at protecting critical infrastructure and aligning Greece with EU cybersecurity directives.
Athanassios currently advises organizations on the integration of AI technologies and the development of cybersecurity frameworks. At the Hellenic Development Bank, he supports projects focused on improving internal processes and decision-making through AI-driven data analysis and automation. He also works with UNDP on digital transformation initiatives that promote secure and sustainable development. His work ensures that digital technologies are implemented effectively while maintaining regulatory compliance and security standards.
