p-ΝΕΤ Emerging Networks & Verticals co-organized and participated in a co-creation event entitled “From Smart Cities to MetaCities,” held during the 5G Techritory event in Riga, Latvia, on October 30th, 2024. The session was facilitated by Marios Nicolaou, Business Development Director at p-NET.
The event included the participation of and highlighted various initiatives working on MetaCites projects.
The objectives of the co-creation event included:
- Understanding the goals, initiatives, and activities of each project
- Exchanging best practices and exploring ideas for collaboration and interconnection

XR Panel and Demonstration
In addition to the co-creation event, Marios Nicolaou facilitated an XR Panel discussion on “Immersive XR Technologies and Digital Twins”, examining applications in tourism, education, and cultural preservation. The p-NET team also engaged audiences throughout the event with an XR demonstration, offering attendees firsthand experience of the transformative potential of these technologies for smart cities.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed, solidifying the commitment to a connected and innovative urban future. The MoU establishes collaboration between organizations across Europe, emphasizing a shared commitment to advancing MetaCities innovation.
